Cotton: The Snow of the South

So long time, no see.  Life got in the way, and I let my photography fall to the way side.  But I miss it! So I took advantage of the cotton fields in all their glory this weekend, and I took some photos of the kids.  Now let me preface this by saying that my kids were *not* cooperative AT ALL!  Don't let that discourage you!  After letting them run around like crazy people for about half an hour, I was able to nail down some good shots.  We got there about an hour before sunset, so by the time they found their chill, it was golden hour, and we found that magical glow!  Enjoy!

The kids were so fascinated with the cotton, and all-in-all, it was a good experience for all of us!!!

Merry Christmas!

I hope everyone had a very, Merry Christmas.  Here is an impromptu family session in front of the Christmas tree.  I had the iso cranked-up to white out the background a bit (I like for the photo to be a little over exposed), and the f-stop was set at 2.8 to make sure we were all in focus.  Overall, not too bad for a last minute, unplanned family session.

The second one is definitely my favorite.  Thanks for stopping by!

Christmas Tree Photos (Part 1)

Nothing screams Christmas like the classic photo of your kid (or pet) in front of the Christmas tree, and there are so many ways this can be created.  If I had it my way, I would have a large studio with 4 or 5 Christmas trees uniquely decorated where the client could choose their favorite tree.  But back to reality!  I have a few favorite ways to shoot these photos, and here a few of my top (bokeh) picks below.  Hope you enjoy!

Nothing beats that last candid shot of my son with a pink stethoscope!  Love it!  What is your favorite style of photos in front on the tree?!?
